Is there a category com_finder? I can only see a search category. Or do you mean to extend the categories foreach component?

Yes extend it.

And when you have extended it there is no need for the generic components category to be added automatically

(Note I dont think we can delete existing categories on the tracker or that will cause issues with existing issues)

@mbabker can you give me admin access to add new categories i can prepare a PR for the needed changes than if i have the category ids?
