That said, and on topic, what do you think about placing the language files inside the extension directory instead of the "root" language folder ?
No arguments from me, I already do that with my extensions.
I can confirm that users appear to be correctly registered when added from
both the front and back ends.
+1 for placing the language files inside the extension directory. I too do
that with my extensions as well.

We don't have the language files for ANY of the plugins imported over from the CMS. That's the problem right there.
