The User ID is displayed to show that you are looking at a filtered search of all the user notes based on the UID

I'm closing this as an expected behavior. When you click that filter icon, you're being taken to the notes view with that filter applied and what displays in the search area is the filter criteria, which in this case is a search on the user ID.

Hello Brain & Mbaker

-I got to know that, it is getting displayed intentionally. But, seriously I have never seen such functionality throughout the Joomla. It is unique.
-Can I suggest an alternate option for this?
-Can we display an information message below the search text field 'User Id:355'
Because, I know, You know & the familiar people of joomla know that 'uid' stands for user ID, It fetches from user manager but what about the new user of joomla?
-I suggest, it should be more usable

@aasimali
uid:XX is a valid search query that advanced Administrators know. On some manager you can also serch by id:XX or author:name

See here: #1643

This was done (but never merged) to add all kinds of advanced querys to the tooltip text.

If there is any interest i can redo it against staging. But it is not a issue it is a feature. :smiley:

hmm i just try it but we can't unify it as we now have searchtools That needs to be hacked bevor we can apply different tooltips for different managers. :(

The problem was, as far as I remember, that string values were too long when used as placeholders.
I tried overwriting the tip for the Search Tools JSEARCH_FILTER_SUBMIT by adding a customised one in the com_content.ini, and that works when hovering the magnifyer which gives:

That though, does not look as the correct solution
