Steps to reproduce the issue
Open Modules (Administrator) > Admin Menu
Choose Preset: Preset - Alternative Main Menu
Help Menu: set to HIDE
SAVE
Expected result
Admin > Help Menu should be hidden
Actual result
Admin > Help Menu remains visible
System information (as much as possible)
Joomla 6.0.1 !
Additional comments
If using Preset - Joomla Main Menu , Help Menu can be hidden as it should be.

You want to hide the menu item "help" in the normal admin menu?
Make a new Admin Menu Import the preset Joomla-main-menu Publish this menu (make a module fot it on position menu) Then you can unpublish the menu item "help"
There is already an option to hide the Help Menu in the Admin Menu module as @brianteeman pointed out, so the switcher should work fine regardless of the selected Preset, without needing to create a new Admin Menu and import the preset.
