Hi,
Got a strange issue with a Joomla site where the updater reports that we're using MySQL Version 5.5.30 but require 5.6 or higher to upgrade.
The database we use is MariaDB and the version in PHPAdmin reports: 10.5.29-MariaDB
Based on this document our site should then be able to upgrade to Joomla 5.x? Document
Not sure if relevant but the site is running PHP 8.3 as well.

Please go to to the system dashboard and click on System Information
What does it say there about the database
Database Type mysql
Database Version 5.5.30
However this does not match with the server where the actual database is hosted.
@lucas-yaml Is your database server connected via ProxySQL or similar? Then you might have run into this issue: joomla-framework/database#309 .
Unfortunately there is not really a fix for that.

Yes unfortunately it is... Alright we'll have to resort to connecting it directly using hostname/IP, thanks.
Sorry added wrong version of the build in the ticket, currently running "Joomla! 4.4.3 Stable [ Pamoja ]" and want to go up to Joomla 4.4.13
