[#40495] - Smart Search Levels not working

I have a problem with Smart Search:

As soon as I filter more that 1 level of Categories, the Search Result shows no Results at all.

Possibly same issue as in #40343?

Fix as in PR #39751 might help?

I tried doing as in #39751 - same result: When only the second layer is chosen all articles appear - as soon as 3rd. layer is included in the filter, no articles appear in the search result...
