There is an Admin Menu module which comes with Custom Support Forum URL setting.

Let's compare how it works in Joomla 3.
If we fill out the field, we see an additional link in the dropdown list:

And here is Joomla 4 setting:

However, I do not see a new link 'Custom Support Forum' in HELP section:

Joomla 4.2.8, PHP 7.4.x

It only appears with Preset - Alternative Main Menu. A closed PR #31774 removes this option since it is not universally used.

in Joomla 4 we have the ability to place a much more prominent custom support link as a module in the sidebar.
we should check this.
