[#3792] - Cannot log out of the backend

NOTE: I'm re-raising here, only because as JC is down at the moment. I successfully raised the problem on JC but now can't edit it to provide an update.
When I click on logout in the back-end, I'm thrown back to the control panel but not logged out.
I've reproduced the problem on a local copy which is back at 2.5.19, hence it's not a new 2.5.22 problem as I first thought. I can't reproduce the problem with a clean joomla install. Hence, it's up to me to perform further analysis.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by a file reset. My local copy is under source control, so I'll just have to do the hard yards to see what's changed.

- extract
- remove the /templates and /instalation folder
- overwrite your current files
Warning: All Corehacks will removed
The problem was related to the StayOpen extension. In particular, the RememberMeBackend plugin. It's possible that this was intentional behaviour and that I've never noticed before. I could log out successfully from the backend, once I disabled the backend plugin.

Can you do a file reset? (possible some file is bad as i also can't reproduce this here; online and offline)
