Can you explain what the problem is and a guide on how to reproduce the issue please?

I'm pretty sure this bug is really annoying. I've seen it a couple of times, but at the moment I can't reproduce it.

Can you tell us excactly when this appears?

@t-arapi How to test this?

@allanlhansen and @losedk tested it but no comments on how or what.

I reproduced it by scaling the window in a list view, e.g. menu, so that the list almost fits the window, then when trying to scroll, it "flickers". Hope this helps. When using a labtop with a small screen resolution, you see it more often.

@allanlhansen Thanks for your suggestion, I tried it but still can't reproduce it. Do you still get it with the current staging branch?

Yes, I installed the latest last week, and the issue is still there.

@allanlhansen Thanks, I haven't been able to reproduce it yet, so I can't test it.

@roland-d just did a short video showing the issue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fkomr4u00pq59a4/error.mov?dl=0

@losedk is this with this PR applied?

avatar roland-d
roland-d - comment - 3 Dec 2014

@losedk Thanks for the video but it looks like it is not an up-to-date staging site because it doesn't have the new sidebar. So I wonder if you still have the problem with an up-to-date staging site. Could you check?

@roland-d the problem is there for staging as well. I made this video for another issue and if you watch it you will find the same flickering

The same problem exists with the proposed code as well https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55769984/flicker_ScreenFlow.mp4

@dgt41 Nope, it's without the patch :)

I'm not experiencing the problem after applying that patch

@dgt41 @roland-d Just did a new video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pv9cnb5cu0mdpjl/error2.mov?dl=0

With and without the changes.

@roland-d Sorry. Cleaned up my dropbox a bit too much :) They are up again!

@losedk I have been able to reproduce the issue now on a Mac with Safari (as shown in your screenshot) and modifying the search module and saving it again. However I can't apply this patch since it is outdated.
@t-arapi Can you update your PR please?

avatar davdebcom
davdebcom - comment - 28 Feb 2015

Tested it again, also asked @roland-d to have a look. Does not seem to be happening anymore. If it does for you, please update the pull request (with staging) and add a reply here.

How @roland-d tests it, in Safari on MacOSX:

  • Go to Administrator > Module Manager, search for "search"
  • Open the Search module
  • Change setting, save it, scroll down
  • Now scroll up, according to this PR you should see some scroll issue or flickering (I don't)

@t-arapi If that is not correct, please add your test instructions.

@test Since my last test I now can no longer reproduce it. I am closing this PR now unless someone can reproduce it and either show the steps in detail and/or with a video. Thanks for your contribution.
