Uncaught RuntimeException: Library path /libraries/src cannot be found

This means the update did not complete successfully. 3.8 adds a libraries/src directory.

If you have a backup try restoring it and updating again. If that doesn't work, follow these instructions to perform a manual upgrade which should perform all of the steps required to emulate the core update process.

@mikelawrey32 if Issue is solved can you please close #18013?

avatar mbabker
mbabker - comment - 20 Sep 2017

@mikelawrey32 no it won't be added to future updates. It's really not a "core" supported update mechanism but I had seen that a lot of folks were doing updates not using the core update component for various reasons so I crafted a tool that could help make sure if folks were doing manual updates they could get all of the required changes needed for an update to go as expected.

@wojsmol my webhost is setting the backup back from joomla 3.7.5 now it will take some time because the database is big.

@classicpark

  1. Make sure you have a backup of your site (files and database).
  2. Download this package
  3. Upload it to your site root and extract it with file manager.
  4. Remove installation folder.
  5. Then use this file as described here.
