There is a gradient on template.css which causes there to be a gradient behind the Joomla! logo. This is against the Joomla! brand guidelines found here https://www.joomla.org/images/logos/Joomla_Brand_Manual_10-02-2005.pdf

Subjectively I don't think it looks good either, but objectively, there are clear guidelines set out.

Pull Request for Issue # .

Summary of Changes

Removed header gradient

Testing Instructions

Install Joomla! using this link https://github.com/uglyeoin/joomla-cms/archive/patch-3.zip and see if there is a gradient in the header as you go through the installation.

@franz-wohlkoenig Yes, that is the screen I am talking about. And yes, the .header is the correct class that you are showing. Thanks for creating those screenshots it makes it much clearer. There should be no blue gradient behind the Joomla! logo, it should be plain white, in which case it makes as much sense from a design perspective to remove the whole lot. I think perhaps the installation could be nicer, maybe I'll make a project of mine to improve it.

I have tested and I get the correct response, no gradient. https://goo.gl/IqFfs3

I have updated my instructions to aid testers, my apologies for not being clearer in the first instance.

@shivamdiehard thank you, I really appreciate you testing it. Sorry for the poor instructions the first time around, I'm still learning, you provided me with good feedback.

Because Joomla is our product we are not forced to follow the style guide in all cases, especially when it makes it look ugly so I would let as it is.

I would say it looked ugly before too. I think having it left aligned would improve it, but I think the entire screen could be redesigned to make Joomla! feel like a great experience as you go through. I would question the point in having brand guidelines if we ourselves to not follow them. Chiara went to a lot of effort to create them. Perhaps the design team should be consulted?

Or perhaps if I find time I'll redesign the whole installation to look nicer and see if that pull request gets accepted instead.
