Hello, I know 2.5 isn't supported anymore, but do you think we will see a fix for 2.5 about cve-2016-9838?
2.5 is not supported anymore so I'm not expecting an official release but a community release like December 2015.
A lot of websites are now on 3.x but I also see a lot of websites on 2.5 and an help (if it's a "simple" file like last december) would really help site owners.

There will be no 2.5 fix from official sources as you rightfully wrote.
If you want to know if someone from the community creates an inofficial one, you'd have to ask in the forum (https://forum.joomla.org/) oand/or check the info here: https://docs.joomla.org/Security_hotfixes_for_Joomla_EOL_versions
