Summary of Changes
Changes typehint. Pending acceptance of joomla/joomla-cms#12650 otherwise version conditionals and a non-typehinted constructor argument are required.
Also bumps minimum to 3.7.

It'll be in the next release. Before I tagged the last beta I added a warning message explicitly stating support was going to be best effort since the API is in a state of change, so I fully expect patch tester to break a time or three as things move on.

is it possible to release 3beta 1 so we can use this on 4.0?
