I've only seen the '

and noticed that a patch had been applied in October but when I downloaded
a fresh copy of both Joomla 3.0 and Joomla 2.5 (to see if it had been
back-ported), the patch had been reverted or something had gone astray in
the meantime.

I wasn't sure if the previous code was disallowed or removed from GitHub so
felt it best (and easier) to create a new pull request with a link to the
tracker URL.

It's best to keep it all together in one issue. If the old patch doesn't
work any more then we can update that.

No one ever tested the patch so it was never merged.

I'm unable to activate/login to my account. I recently created an account, went to login after I had clicked the activation link but it keeps saying 'Could not get user'.

There's a resend button, can you please try that? What is your joomlacode
user id?

We'll have @dextercowley take a look for you, as soon as possible. Currently we're in the process of releasing 3.1 so it's a quite busy at the moment.
