Steps to reproduce the issue

Go to Joomla Menu Manager. Under Details Tab select Menu Item Type. Select Single Article (or similar article selection) Then back in Menu Manager "Select Article". You are then given a list of articles, which you can filter by Category, Status, etc. However it only displays a few of the filtered results.

My suggestion is, like the article manager, the user should be able to select from a dropdown the number of items to be displayed, i.e. 25, 50, 75 100 or All."

Expected result

The expected result limits the user to approx 25 items.

Actual result

The expected result limites the user to approx 25 items.

System information (as much as possible)

Joomla standard installation. Joomla 3.6.3.

Additional comments

Just like the article manager, the Menu manager should allow the user to select whether they want to display all or just a few. This is particularly helpful when there are a large amount of articles, and the user wants to see them ALL at once (or 100 at once, for example) rather than just a few (25) items.

Don't know if this is a "bug" or a feature enhancement request. Not sure where to put feature enhancement requests, so if this is the wrong place for that please let me know where to repost this.

Thanks

I presented this issue on the Joomla forum, and one of the users there confirmed this would be a bug because administrator lists should follow the Global Configuration setting.

And as I pointed out, the modal list should have the same display dropdown as the Article Manager (25-*-100-All) display listings.

I am not a programmer so I am hoping that someone will take on this issue and do the fix.

Thanks

I do not see the issue. You are presented with 25 articles and a pagination. you can search for text strings and filter by different. How many menu items are you creating?

If you do not find your article, open a second browser window and go into the article screen there where you can display more and sort. Should be easy to just filter by a few characters to type.

I am closing this as the expected behaviour. It would not be practical to display an unlimited list in a fixed size modal window. If someone wants to submit a PR then it can always be tested but and reconsidered
