Template override for com_wrapper/wrapper seems to work in Joomla 3.3.
Is this still relevant?

Yes, in 3.3.0 this works as expected. Any chance to backport to 2.5 branch?

I'm closing this since it's solved in 3.3.0.
If you want to fix it in 2.5, please open a new Pull Request with the 2.5 branch as target.
