It might be a case of user error, but...

I'm unable to create a multilingual site: I added the Italian language (of course version 3.3.6.1 has been installed) and enabled "Language Filter", but when creating Articles/Menu Items/Modules only "All" and "English (UK)" are proposed as alternatives.

Is this because of the old language package, I forgot something, or do we have a bug?

I forgot to mention that in the "Language Code" plugin "it-IT" is present

Have you created the 3.4.0-alpha site at install time as multilingual, or later on ?
Please add here a screenshot of the multilingual status admin module

@smanzi I just setup a multi-language site with the 3.4 alpha package during installation. The site is fine as far as I can tell. What is the exact issue you have?

@infograf768 Ehmmm... I know it is a sin, but... "Later on"

  • Installed new language
  • Published "Language Switcher" (front-end)
  • Published "Multilingual Status" (back-end)
  • Created new Menu structure for "All" (was already there), "en-UK", and "it-IT"
  • Moved (batch) all menu entries from "All" to "en-UK" assigning them to the "en-UK" language
  • Created new home page for all languages in the "All" menu structure
  • Assigned home page for "en-UK" in the "en-UK" menu structure
  • Unable to create a new home page for language "it-IT" <----THIS IS THE PROBLEM!
  • it-IT is visible in the "Language Manager" (as an installed language) and in "Language Code" plugin (not necessary, but a proof that the language is somehow there...) but not anywhere else

Sorry, I can't get what you mean... (and probably it is where I'm making a mistake!!!)

@infograf768, @brianteeman, @roland-d
I made a huge mistake, I admit and there is no excuse for that, but shouldn't we "advertise" a little bit more that (fantastic) multilingual demo site? I can't find any reference to it in any official (joomla.org) page, nor in the code itself (maybe a link in the "Multilanguage Status" module...)

Off Topic, but I also think we should update the version "Date" for en-UK language: it still says 2013-03-07...
