I am testing this on a fresh install version 3.3.6.

I need to create custom filters to show search results from all the categories in one section of the website. Also I am trying to show only items of type Articles in another section. I am trying to create a filter for these. As in the attached screenshot, I am expecting to select all the categories (current and future ones) to be selected if I use the below option (where I selected the option "Search by Category").

But after I save the above filter, the check box is unchecked and none of the categories are selected. As this is a checkbox, I was expecting this to select all the categories.

This is very useful, as I can create a number of different filters. The only option I could see is to select individual categories (or items) within a group. But this won't include any future additions, so every time a new category is added I have to select the filter manually.

Is it the expected behaviour or is it a bug.
