What happened?

If there are template overrides on your site and if you update to a new Joomla version, the Super User is asked to check one or more overrides:

Image

When you click the respective button, you see a list of Updated Files:

Of course, you can simply mark the checkbox and forget about it. But the intention is you really check the overridden file by clicking on the filename. You end up in the file view page:

Image

After reviewing or editing your override you (save and) close the file view, you are sent to the Editor page:

This is somewhat surprising. What I would expect is being redirected to the Updated Files page to finish your activity (i.e. by marking the override as checked using the respective checkbox).

Version

5.4

Expected result

After viewing or editing the override file and closing the edit view, the user is redirected to the Updated Files view to finish his activity.

Actual result

The user is redirected to the Editor view.
