Well, it might be a coincidence that for me it happened only with the automated but not with the manual update.
I have observed that from time to time on local environments, but not on my domain environment before.

just remembered that on my site above those updates were done by panopticon which iirc also uses the api to do update. So maybe there is a step missing when updates are done with the api as opposed to com_joomlaupdate
Yesterday, with automated update from 6.0.1 to 6.0.2, again the update package zip remains in tmp folder after successfull update.

got a storage warning on one site and found the old automated updates stacking up so checked a few other sites and all of the sites with auto update turned on (on 2 different servers) all had the last 2 or 3 of the latest update zips in /tmp. Joomla 5.
Shall I re-open this issue?
I also see Joomla_5.4.3-Stable-Update_Package.zip respective Joomla_6.0.3-Stable-Update_Package.zip on my automated updated sites.

Same for me, all 4 sites (two 5.4 and two 6.0).
=> Re-opening the issue.
@epidote you could see older, pre 5.4.3 packages in the tmp file, but not the latest one - correct?
@SniperSister pretty sure I saw the latest one as well like @brianteeman J5 screenshot

I dont believe this is anything to do with auto-updates. I checked one of my sites and there are zip files going back a long time (probably since I last cleaned up)
