Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Upgrade to J5.4 or install a brand new J6.
  2. Open an article or create a new one
  3. Go to the "Publishing Tab"

Expected result

In can set the "Start Featured" and "Finish Featured" fields

Actual result

Those 2 fields are missing

System information (as much as possible)

Found this bug in both brand new installation and upgrade of old ones.

I am assuming you are talking about front end editing.

Those fields are only displayed when you enable featured first.

its the same in the admin. See below

the reasoning behind this was that people were setting the featured start/end times without also marking it as featured and so it didnt work

I always thought that ‘start featured’ automatically enabled the “featured” toggle. I now learn that the toggle must always be ‘on’ and the start and end dates only determine when to actually turn it on or off. Good to know, thank you.

it didnt and it confused people thats why we made the fields invisible until you enable featured
