I am going to guess that the problem is caused by trying to register for automated updates but it not possible as the site is local
I would guess the same. @brianteeman Do I assume right that besides that message, the installation was successful, and the site is working?
Or was it on Windows and there was the known problem with deleting the installation folder?
The open site and open admin link on that page just return to the same installation page
Yes it is on windows with the known issue of it not removing the empty folder but this reported error is NEW

Does it also happen when you chose to disable the automated updates before you finish the installation?
