When I add an image to a Joomla article, under Articles>New>Images and Links, there is a field called Image Class where you enter instructions like float-left, float-end, float-start etc, to control the position of the image in the article. As a new user to Joomla (migrating from Wordpress) this took a while to figure out. I
I think it would be good if there was a drop-down menu called 'Position', rather than Image Class, that had simple instructions like left, right, center etc for controlling the position of the image in the article. Perhaps the field could also allow text entry for people to insert custom CSS or could still keep the Image Class field for this purpose.

It will be very difficult to use a drop-down menu for this input field, because a reasonable choice of possible values depends on the template or template framework you use. In addition, classes can not only be used for positioning, but also for other styling like borders, margins, or padding.
IMHO any content creator should be aware of the huge potential of using CSS classes for building websites.

Your answers don't add any value to the discussion. If you just want to build up a bad mood, you might be better off at X.

Thank you for your contribution. I think you have answers to work with. We cannot fix this.
Joomla is not a friendly CMS, now there will be about 5 or 10 developers who will tell you that you should use template overrides, third-party extensions and other user-unfriendly nonsense.
Any appeals to common sense here end in mass hatred towards anyone who calls for making the CMS more user-friendly.
you'll be lucky if they add your feature because if they're in a bad mood they'll tell you WHO should develop it or who should PAY for it.
