Steps to reproduce the issue

  • Set one of the guided tours to autostart (like the 5.2 or 5.3 welcome tour)
  • Go to the home dashboard of the administrator
  • You will see there is a blank secondary button on the left side of the modal

After that, close the tour and launch the tour manually (Click Take a Tour -> [Tour Name]) and you will notice there is no blank button present.

Expected result

  • Autostart tours should be formatted the same as manually fired tours

I cannot replicate this.

This first time it loads the text in that button says "hide Forever"

When run manually that button is not displayed any more

Are you perhaps using an admin template other than atum?

I am not, but that gives me clues. I'm using the English US language. Apparently the PLG_SYSTEM_GUIDEDTOURS_HIDE_FOREVER constant does not exist in that language pack.

Really appreciate your help. I was able to solve for a moment using a language override. I do have the en-GB language installed as well. Isn't it supposed to fall back to that language file if a constant doesn't exist in the default?

Yes it should fall back to en-gb

So all of my Joomla 5.3 sites have en-US language pack of 5.2.4.1 installed. In that version that constant does exist, but it's a blank string, so that might be why it didn't fallback.

Not sure why a blank string would have been released to a language pack, but regardless, I tried to go download the latest en-US from the link on joomla.org and I get an error (https://downloads.joomla.org/us/component/ars/repository/joomla5-english-us), which might explain why I haven't received the update for that language pack yet.

Is there an appropriate place to open an issue about the error on that download site?

Thanks @QuyTon

@particthistle can you check the packages please. It would be great if you could release a version for 5.3.

Alternatively, someone can fix this in https://joomla.crowdin.com/u/projects/18/l/en-US @travisrisner
@particthistle would certainly appreciate some support.

I did attempt to fix this in crowdin I think, but honestly I'm not fully familiar with that platform so I hope I did it right. Certainly going to learn more about it. I suppose we can close this issue out if no one objects because the original thing it was created for is incorrect.
