This means that the Joomla search is the only search engine in the world that takes accessibility into account. I have never seen such an introductory text on Google, Bing or anywhere else. And I've never missed it.
In order to further improve accessability, may I suggest a new feature that displays a textbox with the following introductory text to the person who adds a new article:
«Assuming the title «xxx» is required, the following article will be saved.» /Irony
Back to seriousness. If this introductory text really can not be omitted, may I suggest another wording:
IS: Assuming «xxx» is required, the following result was found:
SHOULD BE: The search term xxx produces the following search results:
But I would still prefer to completely do away with this text. Lean, clear search results are also in the interest of visually impaired people.
Sorry I do not engage with anyone who thinks accessibility is a joke.
It is very unfortunate that as a committed member of the Joomla community I am being cold-cocked and dismissed in an undifferentiated manner. I ask you to read my post carefully. I did not question the necessity of accessibility. I merely took the liberty of pointing out that I am not aware of any search engine that announces the list of search results with such an introductory text. Furthermore, I have put myself in the position of a person with limited access to the screen and have come to the conclusion that I would prefer to have the search results read out to me and not necessarily listen to explanations with limited usefulness. Again: nowhere except Joomla does this exist.
@chmst I know the language override function. I even know the CSS code
div.#search-query-explained {
display: none
}
But I think it's inappropriate to nip a suggestion for improvement in the bud with the argument ‘You can create an override’ in a project that relies on the active participation of a community. Especially when you do it in a rather arrogant way, as brianteeman has just done.
I am open to an objective discussion and I am also capable of accepting fact-based arguments.
It is very important to handle human resources with care. A project like Joomla should be happy and grateful for people who want to get involved and are willing to sacrifice some of their free time. To dismiss fellow thinkers unobjectively can be counterproductive.
well in future I suggest you dont make fun of people with accessibility needs
My mother tongue is not English, so I may have expressed myself in a misleading way. I certainly didn't mean to make fun of people with disabilities. Certainly not! Making fun is not the same as irony or humour. I assume that a pinch of humour is good in every situation and in every situation in life. I just wanted to raise the question of whether this function really makes an essential and indispensable contribution to accessibility. Perhaps I'm not good enough at empathising with these people. In view of the fact that there is no such introductory text anywhere else on a search engine, I have come to the conclusion that it probably cannot be an overwhelming need.
I agree the the translation is wrong. I fixed this bug in german language package long time ago but this got lost. I will make a new PR for the german language .
@brianteeman This sentence for search results is built by the program in a way that it forms a correct englisch sentence. But impossible to translate it in a way that it gives a correct German sentence

so fix the bug in the string construction. the suggestion of deleting it is not an option
joomlagerman/joomla#3435 PR for German translation - not 1:1 translation but correct German Sentences. If this is accepted, we don't need changes in Joomla Core.
Closing as there is a PR for German Translation.
