Summary of Changes
Created_by cannot be null. The "no-user" Button in the user modal is wrong.

Go to the "publishing" tab of an article and try to change the author.

No, I can only see that created_by is required. It could be 0. But probably then the permissions cannot be verified

Needs further investigation, closing for now
Do you know the pr that introduced it. I'm sure there was a specific reason it was added. Perhaps that has been lost over time.
