Using to replicate instructions on defunct tracker:
"change the configuration such that no mails can be sent (e.g. change the mailer to "SMTP" and change the port number to "26"); register a new user in FE with correct information and save this new user (do not forget to reset the configuration afterwards such that mails can be sent again)."
Patch as posted on Github works4me as expected
