Thanks @imperpl for reporting the issue. I reported it to Joomla framework application package repo joomla-framework/application#114. We will try to have it fixed ASAP and hopefully, have the fix includes in Joomla 4.3.

For 5.x this issue has been fixed with PR #42945 , which will be part of the 5.1.0-beta1 coming up tomorrow.

For 4.4 it still needs to be fixed.

I run 4.4.13, is there any chance this will be fixed in 4.4?

No, As you can see here, Joonla 4.4 is in security only support phase, i.e. only security fixes, no bug fixes anymore, and in October it will be completely end of life: https://developer.joomla.org/roadmap.html

Joomla! 4.x is the currently supported major release series of the CMS. This version is in security mode only, that means, no new features or bugfixes will be accepted.

End of regular bugfix Support for 4.x 15 October 2024
End of security fix only Support for 4.x 14 October 2025

Time to update to 5.
