This is easiest to test if you have installed the sample data. These test instructions depend on the presence of the sample data.
Create a new menu item in the "main" menu called "test". Save and close.
Re-open the "test" menu item and move it to the "main menu blog" by selecting the new menu on the right hand side - do not save just yet
The parent item dropdown is now populated with the contents of the "main menu blog".
Select "Sample Layouts" as the parent.
Save and close
The "test" menu item is in the "main menu blog" and it is a submenu of "sample layouts"
The "test" menu item is in the "main menu blog" and it is a toplevel menu item

Hi
I have an auld site - tdocplus.co.uk/rgtr started many years ago in 2009.
It does now work in J4 ok. Althouigh I have had what one might call "menu problems" which I have been able to fix.
I am simply wanting to add a new menu ... and clealy something is knackered . . . it refuses to save.
Is there a structure check ? I have used Admin Tools, and Rebuilt the menu etc etc ... but get a message saying:
Failed publishing the menu item as at least one of its parents is unpublished or one of its children is checked out.....
there isn't one but to me this suggests a database problem.
Any deas as to how to fix ?
Richard
