Maybe rewriting this to xml for installation, demodata and update would be an idea. You would end up with only one data source instead of data sources per database engine. The null date would be a placeholder.
I agree that the current files have a high chance of introducing errors, and we need to update the same thing in three places.
However rewriting the installer and updater to use a different source is probably not the easiest task. If anyone wants to try a PR, feel free :-)
