Just unzipped the Joomla 3.0 alpha 2 release and I receive this error when trying to access it:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONST in /index.php on line 10

I thought that might've been the issue so I enabled php5.3 but it didn't resolve the issue, it has started working now so presumably it took a while to take effect. Thanks for the help anyway.
