Believe it to be inline with the coding standards manual section Control structures. It specifically mentions overthere how multiline conditions should look. Would not want it to change like suggested at arrays.

I'd really rather not have blank descriptions like that - it shouldn't (he says) be too hard to work it all out from the function I gave you there :) Just put that in and if it's not 100% accurate it's easy for someone to come back and fix
