Since the action logs are an audit log, these can not be deleted from the system.

This is factually incorrect. The full audit log can indeed be completely purged, and even individual items removed from the log. It is not an immutable audit log in the true sense, and can be manipulated to rewrite history. Therefore, saying the logs cannot be deleted from the system is factually incorrect. In fact the "System - User Actions Log" can actually be used to automatically delete after a set number of days...
