The link is a frontend address and should open a new window instead of browsing away from the backend.

It probably me, but this sounds not logical to me.
Forcing a new window when you go to another part (frontend) of the system is bad for accessibility, but closing the backend is good for accessibility.
If you want to close this go ahead.
