After edit an article, - upload a image/pdf/file, it shoud be hilightet/chosen/marked - and easy to insert.
Now - after ipload an image/pdf/file user have to scroll to find the newly image/pdf/file.
If there were uploaded more that 1 image/pdf/file, alle the newly uploaded images shoud be hilightet, and that is easy to visualise, witch one to mark-again, and then insert in the article.
@brianteeman Sir one way to do this is :
append the date to the $safeFileName in the controller(file.json.php) of com_media and than use regular expression to verify the date with the date associated with each file name and mark them new based on date of upload.
is this approach relevant?? I can create a PR if this sounds good to you.
@shubham59 thats not a good solution
@brianteeman Can we use a session to maintain the state of the user and mark the files new and once the session ends, the marking also disappears, is this good enough?? how long do we want the files to marked as new or highlighted??
I reigned that the highlight of the uploaded files, shod be highlighted, until the user have chosen/selected a file.
If it cud flash lightly, it would be great.

@shubham59 I would rather save the filename/paths in the browser (local storage) and then it is easy to highlight them.
Joomla team put a lot of work in the new Media component and it's a very good component, but I think they don't understand the user side here. That is why I have been using "Quantum manager" for years now and will keep using it in J4 since it's just make life easier for inserting content/images. I update my site 5-6 times a day with new articles, each with a lots of images and it's just takes a lot of time to do it with j4 media vs j3 with Quantum manager (I am waiting for it to have a j4 version) .
It's not just the highlight of uploaded single image, it's also the drag and drop and small things that makes life easier to enter content.
I hear what you are saying and agree about an uploaded image should be highlighted but I dont understand your comment about drag and drop. Drag and Drop is already present. What is missing?
All the option for image. It only allow to insert ALT tag (in the popup) where it should have all the other option of Insert/Edit image like caption, title, size..
but thats just the same as with quantum (i use that as well)
I personally don't use drag and drop, but for other users we need to make joomla as easy as it can be. Adding these option to the d&d popup save time in editing and making it more user friendly. I think.

this has come up before and i agree with you. iirc the excuse why this doesnt happen is that you can upload multiple items at once. a good search should find that issue
