This server could not prove that it is irc.lc; its security certificate expired 15 days ago.
if we have a official account there can we contact them anyhow official?
There isn't an "official account" on IRC. That just happens to be a room we've had set up for ages.
IRC is http not https - switch to http and the channel splash page loads.
It was until 15 days ago when the certificate expired

You are supposed to be able to use it with https - as they write on their page
You can now use irc.lc with HTTPS. renewed!
I'm going to close for now. If/When they fix their cert we can bring this PR back again :)

Re-opening. they have switched to using letsencrypt now and have a valid cert
