Just installed the latest com_webllinks 3.6.0 beta, I was wondering if this core component (although decoupled) also will have custom fields ? as seen in com_contact and com_user in the latest 3.7 nightly build

good point, but com_fields also has category fields and since weblinks has categories thats one place to show them
I think you are getting confused. You cannot add a field to a category

You can, it is just not implemented yet
You actually right Brian, good to find that, since it is supported in dpfields, may I ask if you know why this isn't in com_fields, is it by design
thanks Allon, its something I use a lot with DPfields, hope it also makes it in com_fields
But I guess then you did it by your own, because I think I have implemented it only in DPCalendar.
Ok, I never used it by my own, but happy that it works. I guess it is something we can deliver afterwards. Can you please open a new issue about implementing custom fields for categories. So we can focus here on weblinks integration. Thanks.
Ok, I wil do that, thanks Allon

Since the fields are usually shown in the detail views only, I wonder where you would show them in com_weblinks. The detail view here just redirects to the weblink itself.
