I am unable to replicate this at all

Are they all on the same server? Sounds like a server config issue

They are on two different servers.
One is located in Chicago and th eother in Paris.

What kind of serveer config would mess with how joomla handles the timezones?

That I dont know I am afraid but I cannot replicate it.

I set my test joomlasite and user to use the chicago timezone - created an
article and observed the time displayed by Joomla was the correct chicago
time

Make sure the server time is actually correct.

Ok guys... i see that the problem is with this specific joomla sites.
I've just installed a new, fresh joomla install, kept the default timezone as UTC and onlu changed the user timezone to Chicago and everything seems fine.

Another tihnk I noticed is that with the faulty Joomla site, whenever i create a new article, the creatiojn date is auto populated, while the other sites only get that field populated after i click on Save.
I thought this was a new feature of J3.6.2, but maybe its connected to the error?

What you think? aever saw it happeneing before?

Ok, so I found what was causing it.
The created date auto loading was indeed connected to the error, and what was causing that was a 3rd party plugin.
I will contact the developer to let them know.

I want to thank you both for pitching in.
Thank you.

Glad you resolved it. It's always best to try and replicate an issue on a completely clean install first.
