Pull Request for Improvement.

Summary of Changes

This PR is a proposal to move the ordering column in all views to the last.

In this PR i make that simple change in com_content articles.

This would make:

  • views more consistent (all list views start with checkbox, status and then item) - except the ones with ordering ...
  • more easy to view what item we are draging
  • IMO, ordering is not a primary action we need to do everytime . So it doesn't need that highlight (being the first column of the views). I find it rather confusing

After

Testing Instructions

  1. Apply patch
  2. Go to Content -> Articles (check the ordering column)
  3. Use the ordering drag before and after the patch. #### Observations

If accepted i can make this change (and the ordering select box ordering change to) across all views.

I agree it feels more natural but might be a too big change without including UX/UI team

avatar andrepereiradasilva

ok so please propose this change to the UX/UI team

I prefer the option on the right side but as I have, at this stage, no rational justification...
I would follow @rdeutz's advice

My aim (which by no meaning should be translated to what will be accepted from PLT) is to replace jQuery ui with dragula. And this comes with many advantages one of them making drag and drop more natural and UX even friendlier:

This demo is on the left?

avatar dgt41
dgt41 - comment - 14 Nov 2016

@brianteeman the point of that demo is that I'm dragging something OUTSIDE of the designated hamburger menu, which is not possible with the current jQuery UI implementation...

Oh I didn't guess that and I'm not sure I understand either
