Steps to reproduce the issue
- Menu > Main Menu > Add menu item
- set the title
- let the Menu Item Type empty
- save the menu
Expected result
Menu Item Type is mandatory, so an error message must be displayed !
Actual result
The menu item is saved, but with no menu Item type
System information (as much as possible)

Yes I get this - but it will not allow you to publish the menu item - even though publish is selected in setup screen.
